The position is responsible to strategize, manage, and continually optimize the precious metal transportation operations of MKS PAMP GROUP. In a fast-paced trading-floor environment, the position facilitates trades by supervising teams to implement all shipments, deliveries, and vaulting with maximum efficiency and minimal cost.


Identify opportunities and drive strategy

  • Evaluate current practices from a cost and quality-of-service perspective, developing a vision for the “future state,” and executing the necessary actions to achieve. 
  • Keep up to date on market conditions and developments to ensure valid business intelligence and cost-efficiency 
  • Identify new partners globally to improve both regional and international networks. 
  • Support the development of operational SOPs with inside staff. 
  • Develop and regularly report KPIs/metrics to detail logistics costs and track service performance. 
  • Prepare reports as requested and analyze data from multiple sources to transform findings into action steps for improvement. 
  • Implement improvements to systems, processes, procedures, and engage in effective change management

Coordinate operations

  • Work in close collaboration with internal customers (Sales, Operations, Physical trading) and provide optimal freight quotes to support business opportunities and achieve and customer company benefits,
  • Maintain effective communication with new and existing counterparties, within and outside the Group.
  • Manage the day-to-day service execution and the periodic (monthly, quarterly, annual) performance reviews with all key logistics partners
  • Work with the internal logistics team to manage transport flows on a regional and global level.
  • Work with global offices to improve cost elements pertaining to packaging and other factors.
  • Optimize the freight insurance portfolio.

Oversee expenses

  • Negotiate with service providers on behalf of the Group to improve cost and client benefit.
  • Improve conditions with suppliers on cost control and invoice/communication issues.
  • Review and monitor insurance coverage for both the Group and its suppliers.
  • Develop and manage vendor relations.

Team management

  • May be required to lead other logistics staff either as direct reports or through “dotted-line” reporting relationships


  • Ensure supplier contracts are complete, with the proper information, signed and onboarded according to company policy. 
  • Ensure strict compliance with all rules and laws pertaining to transportation, including security and safety rules, policies, requirements.
  • Ensure strict safety and security awareness and best practices. 
  • Address safety concerns and customer complaints promptly. 
  • Take appropriate actions to mitigate risk in all operations.


  • Master’s degree in Business administration, Management or Logistics or equivalent related work or education
  • Proven track record of profitable trading with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience
  • 10 years experience in an operational role and managing shipping processes, including developing logistical options with airlines, ground transporters, brokers, shipping companies as well as customers.
  • Experience in precious metals logistics and existing relationships within the entire precious metal transportation chain highly desired

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting practices, financial analysis and reporting

  • Empathy, understanding and patience-driven with employees and external customers Ability to respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquiries
  • Fluent in English and French, Spanish is a plus
  • Swiss or UE citizen, or holder of a Swiss valid work permit.
